The Calthorpe Project
Accessibility
All pages on this site have been written in, and validated as, XHTML 1.0 Strict, with all layout being created using a valid cascading style sheet (CSS). The aim is to conform with the W3C's Web Content Accessibility guidelines. Pages use structured XHTML where H1 tags are used for main titles, H2 and H3 for subtitles.
Access Keys
Most modern browsers support the use of access keys which allow the user to jump to specific links by typing keys defined on the web site. On Windows, you can press ALT + an access key; on Macintosh, you can press Control + an access key.
All pages on this site define the following access keys:
- Access key s - Skip to content
- Access key 1 - Go to home page
- Access key t - Back to top of page
- Access key 0 - Go to this accessibility page
Activating an access key will take you to its defined hyperlink.
Text Size
It is possible to change the text size with your browser.
- With Internet Explorer version 6 go to 'view' in the main menu and then text size.
- With Mozilla Firefox use the Ctrl + '+' to increase the text size, and the Ctrl + '-' to decrease the text size.
- If you are using Safari on a Macintosh select 'View' and then select 'Make Text Bigger' to increase the text size or 'Make Text Smaller' to reduce the text size.
